Invitation of Michael Mahoney to participate in the IX World Congress on Constructivism

Dear colleague,

You are cordially invited to join a global gathering of health care specialists and spiritual leaders in Göteborg, Sweden, June 13-17, 2005.

His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Jon Kabat-Zinn, Aaron T. Beck, and Ken and Mary Gergen will be among those who will help us focus our energies in communities of science, compassion, mutual care, and education for a global future. The Society for Constructivism in the Human Sciences will meet in fluid confluence with the International Congress of Cognitive Psychotherapy.

A project of this scope and ideals is an organizational challenge of monumental proportions. The Organizing Committee in Sweden has done a wonderful job in making arrangements. Unfortunately, there were some printing errors that were not corrected in the brochure that has been distributed. I apologize to those whose names and countries were omitted from the Scientific Committee in the Preliminary Program. Attached are the names of those who are serving SCHS in our preparations for the Congress. Unfortunately, SCHS membership (or membership on an SCHS Board or Committee) does not affect registration fees in Sweden.

Please consider submitting a title and abstract for your own contribution in Sweden before the December 1 deadline. Knowledge is about connections. Please connect your ideas and experiences with those of others. We will all be enriched in the process.

There will be many opportunities for networking (locally and globally). The Society for Constructivism in the Human Sciences will also have an Awards Ceremony and informal conversation meetings.

Please come join us for a truly global meeting of professionals committed to compassion, human health care, development, and world peace.

Sincerely,

Michael J. Mahoney
